Meet the Artist

As far back as I can remember, I've been drawing; first on the little black-board I got on my 4th Birthday, then in notebooks.     My family quickly learned not to leave notebooks they didn't want doodled in, laying around, because I could decorate them up in no time!   Drawing always came easy, and until I got in school, I thought everyone could do it!    I entered my first contest in the 5th Grade, winning a Blue Ribbon and $25! (which was enough to buy me a new bicycle back then!)

While in High School, I worked at the airport and took flying lessons on the weekends to make up for the extra hours I put in through the week.   Seeing the earth from an altitude, gave me a whole new outlook on things; suddenly, instead of doodling cartoon characters of my teachers in my notebooks, I was experimenting with water colours and acrylics, drawing airplanes and mountain scenes.

I began using my love of drawing as a means of therapy, concentrating and perfecting area's that had always given me trouble; such as "Clouds" and "3-D" work!   I turned to my art as a way of visualizing different scenes and situations from my past.

"I hope that in some way, the spirit in which these paintings came about, may seep through to those who view them."
